✈️ Aircraft History & Livery Story
The Boeing 777-300ER registered HL2016 is one of Korean Air's most iconic special-livery aircraft. It made its grand debut in May 2023 at Seoul Incheon Airport, unveiled as part of South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan. Korean Air and the South Korean government invited global K-Pop superstars BlackPink as ambassadors, with life-size portraits of all four members — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — painted across the rear fuselage.
The aircraft's inaugural flight took it from Seoul to Paris (home of the Bureau International des Expositions), before touring global hubs including London, New York, and Los Angeles, becoming a phenomenon chased by both aviation enthusiasts and BLINKs worldwide.
